Write a news report in which you interview a resident of Paricutín, Mexico describing the birth of a volcano.
Directions
You are a reporter for the Casa Grande Dispatch. Write a series of newspaper articles on the birth and eruption of the Paricutín Volcano in Mexico. Your articles will include an interview with the farmer who witnessed the birth of the volcano. Make sure to include the farmer’s description of how the volcano went from just a cornfield to a volcano and the time it took. The articles also should include scientific data regarding cinder cone volcanoes, their hazards, composition, lava viscosity, and causes of volcano formation and shape.
In order to create this newspaper, you will have to conduct research. When you gather data you must remember to cite any information you use. This includes pictures and graphs. As the back of the newspaper, there is a space for you to list all of the web sites you used. Please put it in MLA format. If you are not sure how to put it in MLA format, go to Citation Machine for a great program that will help you cite sources in MLA style.
