Create a travel booklet for budding geologists about the Ring of Fire and the Hawaiian Islands formation and their volcanoes
Directions:
You are in charge of planning a field trip for the Young Geologists of Arizona club, otherwise known as the YGA, to the Hawaiian Islands. Develop a travel booklet for the YGA. The booklet needs to include information about the geologic development of the islands as well as the different lava types produced by the volcanoes. Another item to include would be which rocks are prevalent on the islands and how the volcanoes produce rich, fertile soil. Also include a section of hazards any geologists should be aware of when visiting the volcanoes. In order to create this brochure, you will have to conduct research. When you gather data, you must remember to cite any information you use. This includes pictures and graphs. On the back of the brochure, there is a space for you to list all of the web sites you used. Please put it in MLA format. If you are not sure how to put it in MLA format, go to Citation Machine for a great program that will help you cite sources in MLA style.
Click on the resources tab at the top of the page to begin your research of the Hawaiian Islands.
Use the following template to help you get started on the travel booklet.
